Creation of a network of NGOs in the district of Kurdjali



K.jpgIn Krumovgrad a coalition of NGOs began work on establishing a network of NGOs in the district of Kurdjali on a project under the Operative program “Administrative Capacity". At the initiative of the association “Initiative for Development - Kurdjali decides"  a working meeting has been held in the office of the civil associations "Harmony", “Together "and the tourist society “Dimitar Petkov” Krumovgrad.

NGOs prepare for a meeting of the Monitoring Committee on the Operational Program "Environment"



Vrati.jpgThe openness and transparency in the work on the open measures of the Operative Program “Environment” require continuous consultation between the managing authority, consultants and beneficiaries. During the open doors days  the Director of Directorate "Cohesion Policy for the Environment" V. Margaritov and his team met with the authors' groups that  manufacture and complete projects under Axis 1 and Axis 2 of the Operative program "Environment", with representatives of municipalities and NGOs  applying with projects in the field of  water cycle and waste treatment.

Simitli Municipality seeks partners for its European integration



Simitli.jpgDays of open doors for consultants and citizen groups have been announced by Mayor of Simitli Apostol Apostolov in his diligence not to miss any action that could help apply for funds under the European programs. The civil association “Harmony” together with  the advisory group “Consult AC 2005 Ltd” are among the active organizations seeking cooperation with local authorities for the development and introduction of European projects under the  seven operative programs.

Change in the criteria for obtaining European funds requested



Pl.jpgA coalition of NGOs has requested a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister  managing the  EU funds Meglena Plugchieva and the Committee on complaints and petitions of citizens in the Metropolitan Municipality on the occasion of the impossibility of a number of educational, cultural and religious institutions in Bulgaria to apply for European subsidies.

Municipality Strumiani increases capacity with the help of NGOs and consultants



Strumyani.jpgWorking meetings between representatives of the municipality Strumiani, NGOs and a consortium of consulting companies came to  the conclusion that the necessary capacity to absorb EU funds can only be  achieved with the efforts of the whole society. In the last year or year and a half  the  prevalent understanding  among the Bulgarian mayors was that the beneficiary of European funds  are only municipal administrations. This was the reason that the funds under many of the opened measures did not  reach their recipients.

Composting of waste - a priority for the non-governmental sector, but not for the state



Rodina.jpgA conference on composting of waste got together in capital hotel "Rodina" representatives of business, scientific sector, environmental non-governmental organizations, seeking ways and forms to assist efforts aiming to comply with the European Directives on collection and treatment of solid waste using modern and environment friendly technologies. The event was opened by Prof. Maria Zlateva, internationally recognized specialist in the field of biology and sustainable development.

N1_1.jpgThe first Festival of the Young Balkan literature - Krumovgrad 2008, organized by the Academy for European culture "Orfeus’ Lyre” with the help of civic associations "Harmonia", "Zaedno” and the Tourist Society “Dimitar Petkov” has ended. After four days in which fine speech, youth, good neighborliness and friendship became one   in this beautiful town of the Eastern Rhodopes the time of balance came.

NGOs with consultants will train farmers



NGO.jpgA coalition of  NGOs  applies with projects for information activity under measure 111 of the Rural Regions Development Program for municipalities Strelcha, Lesichovo, Chelopech, Krumovgrad, Simitli and Strumiani. After the National Agricultural Advisory Service was unable to cope with the promise - through “workshops on wheels " to prepare farmers for the challenges of the EU, now it is only the non-governmental sector that should fulfill  this difficult - to ensure that 2009 will not be missed by farmers as it happened with 2008.

Tatul1.jpgThe participants in the first Festival of the Young Balkan Literature - Krumovgrad 2008, organized by the Academy for European culture "OrfeusРІР‚в„ўLyre” with the help of the  civic associations" Harmonia","Zaedno”and the tourist society “Dimitar Petkov”, visited today cultural institutions and historic sites in the Eastern Rhodopes. Young artists together with members of the international jury examined with great interest Tatul, an ancient Thracian sanctuary and touched the rich past of this beautiful Bulgarian region.

Balkan awards in Krumovgrad
